Some people believe that constantly checking on someone, questioning their whereabouts, and demanding immediate responses are signs of love.
But what happens when that person doesn't answer the phone? What happens when they disagree or want time alone?
Suddenly, the caring words turn into accusations, arguments, and threats.
1 Corinthians 13:4–5 tells us that love is patient and kind. Love is not self-seeking.
If someone claims to love you but repeatedly uses fear, guilt, or intimidation to get their way, pay attention to the behavior rather than the promises.
Love does not require someone to live under constant surveillance to prove their faithfulness.
Consider how you are treating others, too. Are you showing concern or trying to control their decisions?
Read 1 Corinthians 13:4–7.
Praying for you!
